Development of a combined material and processing method to achieve die boards of high dimensional stability
The objective of this project was to examine the capabilities of a number of polymer materials and 3D printing technologies to provide a production route for embossing dies with the packaging industry. The produced polymer dies were examined for control of dimensional accuracy, water absorption, wear resistance, and compression strength. This project resulted in suitable polymer and 3D printing process selection in order to be able to replace traditional high accuracy material and die production routes.
