Boualem Benatallah
Biography
Professor Boualem Benatallah graduated from Oran University of Technology – USTO (Oran, Algeria) in 1991 with BSc (Hons, 5 years degree) in Computer Science. He obtained MSc and PhD from Grenoble University (MSc-DEA from Grenoble in INP in 1992 and Grenoble 1 – Joseph Fourier University in in 1996). He is a full professor of computing at Dublin City University (DCU, Ireland) since Jan 2022. He has had over 21 years as a senior lecturer, associate professor, professor and then Scientia professor[1] at UNSW Sydney (Australia) before joining DCU. Earlier in his academic career, he was also an academic at Queensland University of Technology and James Cook University (Australia). He held visiting professor positions at several prestigious research institutes and universities including INRIA-LORIA, Trento University (Italy), Clermont Ferrand, University of Lyon, Paris Dauphine University (France). He was School Research Director, chair of the school research committee and a member of the faculty research committee (2006-2008, School of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), Faculty of Engineering, UNSW Sydney). He was research impact coordinator at the school of CSE (UNSW Sydney, 2020-2021). He is member of the DCU research ethics committee since September 2023. He is fellow of the IEEE.
